Veteran journalist Macharia Gaitho was abducted on Wednesday morning, at the Karen Police Station.
A video taken by his son Andrew shows Gaitho being bundled into a private car by uniformed police officers, and others dressed in civilian clothing.
Andrew details that his father drove into the police station to take cover after noticing the suspicious vehicle following him through traffic.
The Nation columnist was forced into the private vehicle as other police officers in the station watched.
At the time of press, his whereabouts and reason for forced arrest are still unknown.
Gaitho was letter released as police term the 'arrest' as a case of 'mistaken identity'. Instead, the National Police Service says it was pursuing blogger Francis Gaitho.
