The Kericho Senate contest is heating up with only 10 days before the by elections. The race is a defining moment for Deputy President William Ruto who is facing growing rebellion from a section of his allies in the Rift Valley led by Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, who accuse him of neglecting the South Rift.
Ruto, buoyed by the return of Franklin Bett and Sammy Chepkwony who had initially warmed up to KANU after losing the Jubilee ticket exuded confidence that Aaron Cheruiyot will trounce his opponents.
Governor Ruto claims state resources were being used to campaign for Cheruiyot and alleged there was a plot to rig the March 7th, polls.
