Miguna, who landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Thursday morning made his entry at Uhuru Gardens minutes past 9.00 am.
“I can smell the freshness of the Kenyan oxygen and freedom; this is what we wanted and this is what we got," Miguna said with smile on his face.
"We have defeated impunity and we are going to bury impunity permanently in the republic of Kenya."
The barrister said his journey to Freedom has taken fearlessness, persistence and commitment.
"Since President Ruto was sworn in, it has taken honesty. He said he will facilitate my return and he did, we have to commend him for that. He is a man of his words," Miguna added.
Before his touch down, Miguna had informed his supporters that he has been invited to the Mashujaa day celebrations, and will later join President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto for a garden party at State House.
“From the JKIA to #MashujaaDay. Then to @StateHouseKenya .Patriots are FREE to be at the JKIA. Freedom is here! Cheers,” Miguna wrote in a tweet.
The lawyer returned to Kenya after spending close to 5 years exiled in Canada.
He was forced to exile in March 2018 after officiating the swearing-in of Raila Odinga as the People’s President.
On his arrival, Miguna thanked Kenyans for standing with him, the Judiciary for upholding the rule of law and Kenya Kwanza government for realising his return.
“I would like to extend my gratitude to the Judiciary that stood firm with the rule of law. I must extend my gratitude to Kenyans who voted overwhelmingly for the Kenya Kwanza government because that is central for me. Without this administration I would not be back home," he said.
