VIDEO: Proposed law require MPs to have university degrees

At least 40 members of parliament in the current house may not defend their seats in next year’s general election if they do not acquire academic degrees in the next one and a half years.

This is if a proposal in the elections amendment bill is passed into law.Under the proposed law members of the county assemblies will be required to at least have a diploma.

As Sam Gituku reports the move could reorganize a legislature that has no publicly available record of academic qualifications of its members.
