Vioja Mahakamani 'Prosecutor' Gibson Gathu is dead

The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) on Tuesday confirmed that the 'prosecutor' is dead. 

The veteran actor had been ailing from diabetes for more than 20 years, and in 2021, the family announced that his kidneys had failed. 

The family appealed to Kenyans to contribute towards a kidney transplant procedure that Gathu was to undergo. 

A major fundraiser was held in June 2022, where former President Uhuru Kenyatta contributed Ksh 2 million towards settling the hospital bill. 

In August 2022 , Gathu updated his fans that the Kidney transplant was successful and he had since been discharged. 

“I have been in hospital since July 18, 2022, and I was discharged on August 3, 2022. I feel so good,” he said.
