We have heightened surveillance CS Matiangi

The acting Interior Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Fred Matiang’i, has assured Kenyans of their security noting that the government is committed to safeguard their lives and property.

In a statement, Matiang’i said the situation in the country is calm urging Kenyans to resume their daily activities.

According to Matiang’i, the government has heightened surveillance along the border to deter any attempts by terrorists to disrupt peace in the country.

The Interior CS said he is certain that Kenya is safe and calm. He added that there are adequate police officers on standby should they be required in any part of the country.

Similar convictions were made on Wednesday by Dr. Matiang’i in a press briefing where he told off anyone planning to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere witnessed across the country. He maintained that his security systems were dedicated towards safeguarding the citizens.

Matiang’i lauded Kenyans for being peace ambassadors and asked them to maintain the same even after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) makes a final announcement on the presidential election results.
