We will still nominate Kalonzo’s son and Oburu Odinga to EALA- MP says
Suna East MP Junet Mohamed has said that the National Super Alliance (NASA) will still nominate former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka’s son, Kennedy Musyoka, and Oburu Odinga, sibling to opposition leader Raila Odinga, to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).
Speaking during parliament proceedings on Wednesday, the ODM Director of Elections sparked laughter among the lawmakers when he revealed the opposition’s proposed names even before the list is presented before the August House for scrutiny.
“And if we get our four slots we will give one slot to Dr. Oburu, another one to the vice president’s, Kalonzo Musyoka, son. The other two we can check other Kenyans then we put them in the list,” clarified Junet.
Jubilee Party legislators led by Majority leader Aden Duale have expressed their displeasure with the opposition’s move to nominate relatives of NASA’s top leadership, vowing to oppose the nominees.
“And please do not bring your girlfriends. We want to tell the political parties don’t bring your relatives, don’t abuse the position you have in the party. If you are the party leader don’t nominate your brother, your sister or your daughter or your son,” said Duale.
The National Assembly on Wednesday adjourned for three weeks just a day after it resumed business from a month-long break occasioned by the October 26 repeat presidential election.
