Wife of murdered Nyeri businessman Erasmus Iguku Kinyua to face charges

The wife of slain businessman Erasmus Iguku Kinyua, a prison officer and a third suspect are set to face murder charges after a Nyeri court found that they should be prosecuted.

Dorcas Wambui Iguku, Benson Musili and Simon Kariuki are accused of murdering the Nyeri businessman on December 19 last year at Kangemi village in Nyeri County.

The three could, however, not take plea on Monday as the High Court judge is on vacation.

They appeared before the Deputy Registrar of the High Court Edina Angima who deferred the plea-taking and ordered that the matter be handled by the High Court judge.

The three will remain in remand until February 1 when they will be arraigned.

Three other suspects were set free by Senior Principal Magistrate James Macharia on Monday following the conclusion of investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
