Wife of slain Muslim Cleric Aboud Rogo arrested

Police are holding the widow of slain Muslim cleric Aboud Rogo following the attempted terror attack on Mombasa Central Police Station on Sunday, September 11.

Haniya Said Saggar was arrested at her home in Kikambala, Kilifi County Wednesday evening.

This is after it emerged that she communicated with one of the three women who were killed in the Sunday attack.

The women attacked police officers at the Central Police Station stabbing one officer before they were shot dead.

Haniya’s husband, Aboud Rogo, was shot dead along the Mombasa-Malindi road in 2012.

An inquest into his killing opened in 2013 and police were absolved from blame in the killing.
