Woman, 28, arrested as prime suspect in murder of husband in Migori

Police have arrested a 28-year-old woman who is believed to have been involved in the murder of her husband at their home in Kuria West, Migori County.

According to Kuria West Sub-county Police Commander Reuben Bett, the suspect identified as Celestine Ghati is the prime suspect in the murder of her 32-year-old husband James Omahe who was killed by three armed attackers while he was accessing their home at Masangora location. 

The police boss said investigations into the matter are still ongoing but preliminary findings have linked the woman, who is detained at Kehancha Police Station, to the killing.

According to Mr Bett, the attackers were armed with a gun and other crude weapons around the homestead of the deceased.

The woman is set to be arraigned.
