Woman arrested in Kitui for hacking 10-year-old son to death over Ksh.100

Police officers in Kitui have detained a middle-aged woman accused of killing her son by hacking him with a panga  in the Kaveta area of Kitui Central.

Witnesses say the woman attacked her 10-year-old son on Saturday with a cane before hacking him with a panga for reportedly losing Ksh.100. 

The boy had reportedly been sent to offset a bill but returned home later saying he had lost the cash. 

Kaveta Chief Jemmy Kalua confirmed the shocking incident, saying investigations into the incident have been launched. 

The body of the deceased has been removed to the Kitui County Referral Hospital Mortuary.
