Woman arrested in Nakuru on suspicion of killing a bar owner in a suspected love triangle

A 48-year-old woman is being held at the Menengai police station in Nakuru county on suspicion of murder. 

Rongai sub-county police commander Richard Rotich confirmed the Saturday 8p.m incident saying detectives are probing a possible love triangle. 

The deceased, Teresia Chakoko who was the proprietor of a bar within Olorongai centre was found dead in one of the rooms within the establishment. 

According to a police report, the body had multiple injuries. 

Preliminary investigations revealed that she had complained that the suspect, Anita Njeri, aged 28 had snatched her man. 

Police were alerted to the incident by witnesses who said there were two women who were fighting over a man at the bar. 

The sub-county police commander said officers swung into action and arrested the suspect who was trying to flee the crime scene. 

Probe into the incident is underway.
