Woman dumps human waste in a water well

Residents of Kapkoi village in Trans Nzoia County on Friday woke up to a rude shock after a woman contaminated borehole water meant for domestic consumption with human waste.

Alice Wandabwa revealed to the residents that she started gathering the human waste for almost two weeks and dumped the excrete in the well as a way of retaliating against her neighbours who she clashed with recently.

She decided to dispose her human waste into the borehole on Thursday after her strategic storage plan.

“After being disturbed by neighbours for quite some time, I got fed up and decided to retaliate by placing some stool and urine in the water well,” she said.

“I have never committed such an act before, it is just that these people pushed me to the wall.”

An infuriated resident, Jotham Nyongesa, insisted that the woman had done the same over a period of time, something he says has led to residents contracting water-borne diseases.

“I was from work when I decided to escort my son to fetch some water for commercial purpose when we bumped into stool wrapped in a black polythene bag. It was a really disturbing and ugly scene” said Mr. Nyongesa.

The residents who are now worried of their health status are calling on the government to take stern action against the woman who has put their live at risk.

The woman was arrested and taken to Kitale police station and is set to be arraigned in court.
