Abel bags a treble as Uasin Gishu thumps Nakuru to finish third at KICOSCA
Abel Dennis struck thrice as Uasin Gishu county football team beat Nakuru 4-1 to claim the third position at the KICOSCA games at Kericho Green Stadium.
Uasin Gishu’s went 1-0 up in the 20th minute after Dennis Abel chipped an Isaiah Kipkemboi cross beating Nakuru’s goalie Maurice Otieno.
Nakuru leveled the scores seven minutes later after striker Kevin Ochieng fired a powerful strike into the right side of the net leaving the goaliehelpless.
Uasin Gishu stormed back to the lead in the last minute of the of the first-half after Isaiah Kipkemboi applied a simple tap-in after Nakuru’s goalie punched off Peter Wambua’s effort setting the scores at 2-1 at halftime.
Nakuru’s shot stopper Otieno committed another mistake punching off another strike from Collins Chererek leaving Abel to drive into Nakuru’s empty net.
Abel completed his treble in the penalty spot after Oliver Jananga fouled him, sending the ball into the right side of the goal beating Otieno to seal their solid 4-1 triumph.
Abel Dennis was a budding influence for Uasin Gishu, his penetrating runs and apt dribbling skills giving Nakuru’s back line a hard time to handle him.
However, Nakuru played entertaining football but could not outsmart steadfast Uasin Gishu defence
