Bandari fearful over title chances after Mathare relegation
Bandari FC team manager Albert Ogari has admitted they are
fearful of the prospect of losing three points won against relegated side
Mathare United will hurt their title ambitions.
Mathare were relegated from the Football Kenya Federation
Premier League on Saturday after they abandoned three straight league matches
over financial challenges.
They missed their matches against Bandari, Ulinzi Stars and
Sofapaka consecutively.
That means points won against the side could be voided by the
league organisers and will see Bandari lose the three points they collected in
the first leg.
“Our three points will go just like that. It has affected us
and it is a major set-back for our title ambitions,” he said.
Ogari however takes solace in the fact that they are not the
only team affected as he added that they are now focused in their remaining
four fixtures.
"It is not only us affected by Mathare being relegated
so most teams will be taken steps back with the decision."
The Dockers will still be third in the log with 50 points,
six shy of Tusker FC and Kakamega Homeboyz who are head to head with four
matches remaining.
They are set to face Kariobangi Sharks, Ulinzi Stars,
Sofapaka and Police in their remaining four fixtures.
