Bandari leave it late to top Guerdane in Confed Cup

Bandari FC defeated Tunisia’s US Ben Guerdane 2-0 on Saturday as they seized first leg advantage in the CAF Confederation Cup first round clash staged at the Kasarani Stadium.

The visiting Tunisians were undone  in the second half with Yema Mwana and Hassan Abdallah netting in a five-minute spell to put the Kenyans in control ahead of the return leg in a fortnight.

The Benard Mwalala coached side started the game on a high speed only to relax on the tenth minute with only first half shot on target coming from Abdallah Hassan after a nice cross delivered by Cliff Kasuti on the 20th minute.

The Dockers returned from the tunnel energized side with Benard Mwalala introducing speedy wingers to ignite their striking force.

Shaban Kenga came in for Cliff Kasuti as Benjamin Mosha replace Danson Namasaka.

Bandari had to wait until 70th minute for the breakthrough to arrive when Hassan delivered a well composed corner only to meet Congolese Mwana whom without hesitating put it in the net.

Five minutes later it was Abdallah’s turn to give Bandari their second and winning goal from William Wadri’s corner.

Mwalala was after more goals introducing Wycliff Ochomo in Mosha’s place but no more goals were witnessed.
