Bandari Queens registered their first win of the 2026 season with an impressive 2–0 triumph over TUK Ravens at Mbaraki Sports Club on Sunday morning.

Captain Venereta Mkoa and winger Saumu Mnyanzi found the back of the net to secure all three points for the home side.

The Queens made a bright start and took the lead just 11 minutes into the match. Saumu Mnyanzi delivered a well-taken corner kick, which Captain Venereta Mkoa calmly tapped home to open the scoring.

Bandari continued to press, with striker Agnes Olesi coming close to doubling the advantage on three occasions, but her efforts failed to hit the target.

TUK Ravens struggled to settle into the game. They managed only two shots on target in the first half through Molly Okoth and Ednah Kwamboka, both of which were confidently handled by Bandari goalkeeper Belinda Akinyi.

The hosts went into the break holding a narrow 1–0 lead.

The second half began with renewed intensity from Bandari Queens, and just three minutes after the restart, Saumu Mnyanzi doubled the lead. She finished neatly after connecting with a close-range pass from Namale Irene, beating TUK goalkeeper Judith Okumu.

Five minutes later, Mnyanzi missed a golden opportunity to extend the lead, sending the ball over the crossbar in a one-on-one situation. Despite the missed chances, Bandari Queens remained composed and comfortably held on for a 2–0 victory.

Speaking after the match, TUK Ravens head coach Stephen Ocheso cited fatigue as a major factor in his team’s loss.

“We were fatigued. We travelled yesterday and arrived late. We knew our match was at 1 pm, but it was later slotted for 11 am. We pushed ourselves to the limit. We missed a lot of chances, but Bandari outplayed us,” he said.

Bandari Queens head coach Jonathan Washe expressed his delight at securing their first win of the year.

“We projected for this win, and I am happy we were able to score two goals, although we could have managed to score more,” said Coach Washe.
