Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) deputy president Paul Bitok has urged volleyball enthusiasts to fill up Makande Gymnasium in Mombasa and create a passionate atmosphere during the National League playoffs semi-finals.

The coastal city is set to come alive starting Friday all through to Sunday as four teams in each category battle for the final slots.

“Our fans have been amazing this season, and I believe we’ll see even bigger crowds as we approach the end of the season,” he said.

In the men's semi-final line-up, holders Kenya Prisons will tackle tournament hosts KPA while former champions GSU confront Equity Bank.

In the women’s contest, reigning champions KCB lock horns with long-time rivals Kenya Pipeline while former Kenya Prisons battle DCI in the other last four tie.

As part of efforts to expand the competitive calendar, the federation recently introduced a new tournament — the Kenya Cup — which will take place after the conclusion of the end-of-season playoffs.

The Kenya Cup will feature quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a grand finale, offering additional opportunities for teams to showcase their talent.

“The introduction of the Kenya Cup means our season won’t end with the play-offs. It will provide more playing time and competitive opportunities for our teams,” Bitok noted.
