APS Bomet drew 1-1 with Murang'a Seal on final day of the National Super League (NSL) as they rounded off what has been an outstanding campaign on Sunday.

Bomet entered the clash as champions of the NSL but had yet to lift the trophy and the result did little to dampen the mood at full time as the IAAF Bomet Stadium erupted in celebration.

They finished on 71 points, two ahead of Fortune Sacco who were handed a 2-0 walkover after their opponents Gusii FC were a no-show for their final game of the season.

Their intention to wrap up their season on a high even though in a dead wood fixture was on full display as they got off the blocks thanks to Dennis Cheruiyot's neat finish from close range in the twentieth minute but their intensity slackened as the match wore on.

Despite missing two chances to even the score in the first half, Murang'a Seal grew into the game and snatched an equalizer ten minutes from time via Wilson Kamau's finish from close range.

By virtue of clinching the second-tier league title, the Bomet County-side also benefited from a Sh1,000,000 in cash prize.

Bomet tactician Charles Odera heaped praise on this charges for having memorable season, but urged them to quickly turn their focus on making a successful bow in the top-tier league.

"The attitude of the lads has been very impressive throughout the season and I congratulate them for finishing the season as winners.

"It is a memorable achievement for both the technical bench and the playing unit.

"However, we will have to quickly turn our attention to next season as it is less than a month away."

Murang'a Seal who culminated their campaign at third spot will square it out against Wazito FC who ended their season at number 17 on the FKF Premier League log with the dates for the playoff tie yet to be announced.

Elsewhere Mwatate United  marksman Elly Saenyi bagged the National Super League golden boot after netting a remarkable 26 goals.
