Bullets hit back to frustrate Leopards in Kakamega

Vihiga Bullets struck late to salvage a point from their 1-1 draw against AFC Leopards during Sunday's FKF Premier League clash at the Bukhungu Stadium in Bungoma County.

Eugene Mukangula had put Leopards in front minutes into the second half but cost his side again when he conceded a penalty late on which Mike Isibwa duly converted.

It was the latest setback for Leopards who were hoping to build some winning momentum after claiming only their second win of the season last week when they edged Posta 1-0 in Thika.

The result will carry even more disappointment for the visitors considering the bottom-ranked Bullets had only managed one point all season and came into the clash off a seven-match losing streak.

After a barren opening half, Mukangula blasted Leopards into the lead in the 50th minute after unleashing a thunderbolt into the back of the net.

However Bullets did not sit back as they fought for an equalizer which came in through winger Isabwa penalty in the 83rd minute after Mukangula handled the ball in the box.

Vihiga Bullets coach Juma Abdalla hailed his team performance after they came from behind to hold giants AFC leopards.

'I told my players not to panic as they did in their last match against Gor Mahia and that's what they did today against a good side'. He said.

Leopards team manager Tom Juma who was in charge of the squad today after head Coach Patrick Aussems fell ill, complained of poor officiating.
