Bullets win a motivation, says Bandari coach 'Modo' Kimani
Bandari
FC interim coach Anthony ‘Modo’ Kimani has described their 4-1 weekend win over
Vihiga Bullets at Mbaraki Sports Club as a motivation ahead of their final four
matches as they stay on course for a title challenge as rank outsiders.
Speaking
after the weekend win, 'Modo' said that they knew Bullets who are fighting a relegation battle would give them a tough challenge but is proud of the huge weekend win.
“After
they beat Kariobangi Sharks we knew the task ahead of us but the boys followed
instructions to the latter,” said delighted Kimani.
When Kimani took over as Bandari’s interim coach in February after the club parted ways with Rwandese Andre Cassa Mbungo, the team was at position nine in the league table but have made major gains to challenge for the title. They are third on the log on 53 points from 30 games, nine adrift of table-topping Kakamega Homeboyz, and six shy of second-placed Tusker.
Out of the 16 matches Kimani has overseen, Bandari have won nine, drew five and lost two, and he attributes the upsurge to the self-confidence he has instilled in the team.
“Every
player in Bandari is capable, that is why they were signed and the confidence
in them has risen, that is why they have the fighting spirit which bears
results for us,” added Modo.
They tackle Kariobangi Sharks, Ulinzi Stars, Sofapaka and Police FC in that order in their
last fixtures.
