Speaking on the partnership, Alfa Romeo Owners Club Chairman,
Peter Wanday said.
“The centerpiece of the event is the judging of 70 vintage and
classic cars and 40 vintage and classic motorcycles which makes it 110 entries.
We have limited the number of entries because of the quality time that it takes
to get quality judging.”
Events Director Concours d'Elegance, Bob Dewar explained a
little bit of history concerning the event.
“The vintage car is one that has been made in December 1930 or
earlier. Beginning of the Concours d'Elegance stems from a practice in activity
in the 17 century when the nobility of France wealthy merchants gathered in the
parks of Paris and other French cities.
“They brought their superb horse drawn carriages, it was not a
competition but they looked into other people’s carriages and say that one
looks really good, he has a good idea with the lamps and that’s how it started.
Concours d'Elegance a gathering of elegance.”
It is one of the standout classic and vintage Leisure motorsport events in the world that sees representation from across the world as it celebrates the Golden Jubilee Edition.
