Enosh
Ochieng struck late to secure a point for Ulinzi Stars as they battled to earn
a 2-2 draw against Sofapaka FC during their FKF Premier League clash at the
Ruaraka Grounds on Thursday.
Ulinzi
opened the scoring with a stunning finish from Timothy Odhiambo following
exquisite build-up play from Stephen Etyang and Bernard Ongoma.
The hosts
produced another quality moment of their own to restore parity with Evans
Malachi beating goalkeeper Ricks Sylvaine with a free-kick on the edge of the
box.
Momentum
seemed to swing in the favour of Ulinzi in the second half before inadvertently
conceding a penalty.
Roddy Manga
stepped up to take it but Sylvaine kept out his effort.
That penalty
pain was wiped out a few minutes later as Sunday Ikekhai applied a tap in to
finish off a good move for Sofapaka to take a 2-1 lead.
Ulinzi thought they had found the equalizer in
the 73rd minute when they had ball in the back of the net but it was ruled out
for offside leaving Bernard Mwalala fuming in the stands.
Enosh
Ochieng then struck with nine minutes to go after he had been put through by
Etyang to level matters and deny the hosts three important points.
The result
left Sofapaka in 12th place with 27 points while Ulinzi are eighth position
with 34 points.
