Kenya Federation has launched a full-scale probe into two separate cases of
referee harassment involving National Super League side 3K FC at Moi Stadium,
Embu and Division One outfit Compel FC at Ilala Stadium in Webuye both taking
place held on Sunday, 12th January.
The
incidents were reported during the National Super League tie involving 3K FC vs.
Kibera Blackstars FC and the Division One fixture between Compel FC and GFE 105
FC.
The
Federation says it has received detailed match reports concerning these
incidents from the referees' department. The FKF Leagues and Competitions
Committee is following up with the clubs involved to obtain their responses
regarding these matters promptly.
“As a
Federation, we reiterate our commitment to ensuring the safety and security of
match officials and promoting the highest standards of sportsmanship and
integrity in the game.
“Violence or
intimidation against match officials is unacceptable and will be addressed
decisively.” Said LCC Chairman Peter “Kass Kass” Kamau.
In
collaboration with the FKF Leagues and Competitions Manager, the LCC will
convene a meeting on Thursday to deliberate on the reports and determine the
necessary course of action.
After
the meeting, the committee will issue a comprehensive statement outlining its
findings and decisions.
