Former Ulinzi Warriors basketball team head coach William Balozi is dead.

 

The coach who left his role in 2022 died on Sunday night, Warriors team manager Stephen Bartilol has confirmed.

 

According to Bartilol, the coach has been battling unspecified illness for a long time.

 

"It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our colleague and friend coach William balozi, who passed away on Aug 13 unexpectedly. He had suffered with a prolonged illness in recent days.

 

"To the family my sincerest condolences for you at this time. You have my deepest sympathy and unwavering support. Wishing you peace, comfort, courage, and lots of love at this time of sorrow. My heart goes out to you at this difficult time," Bartilol mourned.

 

Balozi coached Ulinzi for 11 years, winning the Kenya Basketball Federation men's Premier League title twice, in 2015 and 2019.

 

The coaches has been in the military since 1992 serving the country.
