Gor determined to outshine CAF rivals DC Motema Pembe
Gor Mahia FC head coach Steve Pollack says his team is determined to outshine their CAF Confederations Cup opponents DC Motema Pembe when the two clash on October 27 in Nairobi.
Gor crashed out of the CAF Champions League following a 6-1 aggregate loss to USM Alger of Algeria before they were paired with the Congolese side in the playoffs of the continent’s second-tier clubs competition.
“I have coached in Ghana but I’m not familiar with the team, we are trying to get videos to analyse their style of play.Whether we get them or not it’s our home game we have to make our fans proud with the aim of progressing further that what they did last season,” Pallock said.
Pallock who took charge of his side first training after the international break says all the players came back fit, are in good spirit and ‘responding well’ to his tactics.
Still unbeaten in the League after four games the 18-time champions will play Kariobangi Sharks in a Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match this weekend, a match which the British tactician is focused on getting maximum points.
“They are a tough side to break down we have to be very clinical in front of the goal by taking the few chances we will create ,but am looking forward to an exciting encounter,” Pallock said.
Sharks are 13th on the KPL log after one win three draws and a lost in the five games they have played so far.
