Gor in litmus test against Yanga

Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia face a litmus test tonight when they host Tanzanian giants Yanga in their third CAF-Confederations Group ‘D’ match at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani from 7pm.

Gor go into this match with only two points from two matches having settled for draws; a 1-1 score with Rayon Sports in Kigali and a dour barren draw against USM Algers in Nairobi.

Winless in two encounters, K’Ogalo are under immense pressure at home and will need to be at their best to win the contest.

Getting maximum points from Yanga will be instrumental in keeping their hopes of advancing to the quarter finals alive.

The group leaders, USM Algers of Algeria, are almost sure of a quarters slot with four points at the helm of the table; accumulated from one win and a draw against Gor Mahia.

But despite off-the-pitch troubles, K’Ogalo will have to be at their eloquent best if they’re to humble the giants.

Head coach Dylan Kerrr believes the goal is attainable.

“I just hoping the players will be fit physically, mentally and psychologically as they go to this big battle against our friends from Tanzania,”Kerr said.

Gor will also be relying on the support of their vociferous fans if they are to get past the visitors .

On the other hand, a win for Yanga will see them rise to four points, above K’Ogalo, making the group matrix tougher for the Dylan Kerr’s charges.
