The venue for the eagerly awaited Mashemeji Derby is yet to be confirmed, less than five days before the much-anticipated fixture.

Gor Mahia administrative secretary Ronald Ngala says the federation is still in negotiation with the organizers of World Aids Day, who had booked the Nyayo National Stadium from Saturday, November 29 to Monday next week.

The FKF is hoping to get a win-win situation to enable the Kenyan club to host the match at the venue this Saturday.

‘’All we know is that the derby will be played this week. Our headache is the venue since both Kasarani and Nyayo Stadium are booked for other weekend assignments. The Federation is working day and night to ensure we have Nyayo Stadium for the match this Saturday,’’ said Ngala

Ngala, who also served as the team's assistant Secretary General in the past, however, says the Federation is tentatively optimistic the derby will be played on the set date. The initial venue slated for the match, The Kasarani Stadium, will also be unavailable due to the CAF Confederations Cup clash pitting Kenyan representatives Nairobi United against DR Congo's Maniema Union.

‘’We were initially slated to host the match at Kasarani, but Nairobi United FC had already booked the venue for their CAF Confederations  Cup Match. Even if the match was moved to Saturday, Kasarani would still be unavailable since it would be used by Nairobi United visitors for pitch feeling before their Sunday duel,’’ added Ngala.

The Federation is understood to be in negotiation with the organizers of World Aids Day to start organizing the venue of their Monday event on Saturday to allow the Nyayo National Stadium to host the big match.

Meanwhile, Gor Mahia has suffered its second loss of the season at the hands of newcomers APS Bomet. The record Champions lost 1-4 in a match that saw coach Akonnor field almost all his second team players.

Hansel Ochieng scored a brace for the gunmen in the 39th and 42nd minutes, adding the third.

Gor’s sole goal was scored by Ghanaian George Amonoo in the 5th minute of the game.

Despite the humiliating loss, Gor still tops the log with 19 points after 9 outings. Coach Charles Akonnor looked frustrated after the month, perhaps regretting his fielding mistake.

Fans alike were angered, and part of the fans could be heard shouting dismay and dissatisfaction on the terraces. Before this match, Gor had only conceded two goals, and this now brings their goals conceded to six, 4 from one match

Perhaps coach Akonnor was preserving his players ahead of the anticipated Mashemeji derby.
