Gor run the risk of losing key players

Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia could lose three key players who will be soon out of contract in June, with the current COVID-19 situation and lack of sponsor complicating the situation.

However, Gor Chief Executive Officer Omondi Aduda is confident they will agree to extend their stay.

Assistant captain Joash Onyango who joined K’Ogalo in 2017, Charles Momanyi and forward Nicholas Kipkirui will be out of contract next month.

With the trio being first team influential members, Aduda says they are already working on their contracts extension.

“We are aware we need to discuss their contracts but this will happen immediately when the Country opens up. As you are aware no meetings are allowed now but that is our priority, the technical bench and committee will meet as soon as the restrictions are lifted to discuss the matter,”  he said.

Gor Mahia, were declared current season’s winners by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) before conclusion of the league owing to COVID-19 pandemic, are set to represent the country in next season’s CAF Champions League.

Thus, Gor is keen to keep the experienced members as ahead of the highly competitive continental showpiece.
