Greensharks face Sailors as action resume in hockey league

Action resume this afternoon in the hockey men league as fourth placed Greensharks face Chase Sailors at City Park beginning 5pm.

Also, the weekend will witness packed action with two bottoms placed teams facing each other in the women league.

JKUAT who are at the bottom of the league with no points will be hoping to get their first point after losing their two matches against Strathmore University and Telkom when they face Kenyatta University students who are second from bottom with only one point.

KU who drew their first match against Sliders before losing to Lakers and Amira Sailors will take their tally to four should they win against their fellow university students.

Defending champions Telkom who are top of the seven team league  will have a quiet  weekend though their coach Judy Apioh believes they have what it takes to defend the gong again.

“We know it will be tough but we are ready for it, we have a good team as you can see,” she said after a 2-0 win over Strathmore University last week but one.

On Saturday, joint league leaders Western Jaguars will face Kenya Police and a win will take them top of the summit with 12 points after four matches. On Sunday, third placed Butali who are on six points will have a chance to continue their perfect league run when they take on bottom place Strathmore University.

Current league leaders Wazalendo who are on equal points with Western Jaguar’s (9) will not be inaction this weekend.
