Bidco United are seeking to snap a 12-game winless run as they host Kakamega Homeboyz this afternoon in Murang’a as the Kenya Premier League action returns following the FKF Cup break.

Bidco, who are languishing in 19th in the standings on 16 points, desperately need a win to lift themselves from the relegation zone with only two points separating the Oilers from basement side Sofapaka.

A victory this afternoon would temporarily lift the Oilers four points from the relegation area to 14th as they fight to safeguard their place in the Kenyan top flight.

Fortune seems to be in Homeboyz’s favour as they enjoy a five-match undefeated run against the Oilers and will be eyeing to make it six on the bounce as they chase down the pack in the upper echelons of the FKF Premier League.

It will be Homeboyz’s first league outing since the tragic passing of defender Silas Abungana eight days ago.

In that same regard Kakamega-based club will also be looking to return to winning ways following their 2-2 draw against holders Kenya Police who sit above them in fifth in the standings.

A win on Friday will see them rise as high as fourth level on points with Shabana FC and within nine points adrift of league leaders Gor Mahia.

With Nyayo Stadium engaged with the HSBC SVNS 2 series this weekend and Kasarani Stadium closed to allow for renovations ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals, FKF have moved most KPL matches out of the city.

Record champions Gor Mahia travel to Kericho on Sunday to face relegation-threatened APS Bomet seeking to maintain their position in the summit of the league.

Second-placed AFC Leopards, who are seeking their first topflight title since 1998, will be Mombasa to play Bandari who have lost one match in their last five league outings.
