I have no plans of ditching Ingwe Kamura

AFC Leopards captain Robinson Kamura says he has no plans of ditching the club.

Speculation has been rife that the Ingwe skipper could join a Zambian Premier League club but he’s scoffed at such reports adding that he is keen to help the 12-time league champions lift their first title since 1998.

“I want to tell Ingwe fans that I am still here and I’m not going anywhere. Those are just rumours simply because my contract is expiring in December and now that I am the club captain they know that when they write that it will be read by many people,” claimed  Kamura.

Kamura has also regretted the fact that their traditional rivals Gor Mahia have positioned themselves as a hard rock to break in the Mashemeji Derbies and that he is longing to break the jinx.

“It is better you even lose the league title but emerge winners in Mashemeji Derby. That clash has got its weight, feeling and magic in itself. It’s all about the bragging rights,” he claimed, adding that, “The Leopards squad that will stop Gor, even if I will not be there, I think they will have washed the hearts of our fans.”

Leopards will open their FKF Premier League campaign against Western Stima in Nairobi this weekend.
