Imbenzi proud of Homeboyz trio called up for Rising Stars duty
Kakamega Homeboyz Team Manager Boniface Imbenzi is thrilled to
see his players; striker Enock Masinza and goalkeeper Ibrahim Wanzala make the
final squad of Rising, which expected to play international friendlies in Malawi.
Masinza, Wanzala and winger Oliver Majak were named in the Salim
Babu’s provisional squad before the latter was released due to issues with his
travel documents
"Yes, we got call-ups of defender Enock Masinza, goalkeeper
Ibrahim Wanzala and striker Oliver Majak into the Rising Stars provisional
squad. Masinza and Wanzala made
the final squad while Majak couldn't because of issues to do with his travel
documents," Imbenzi said.
Majak has already joined his Homeboyz teammates in training
after the team returned from a one-week break.
"The team was away for a one week break thanks to the
international break. They resumed training yesterday and I believe that we are ready
to keep going in our remaining matches.
“We are happy to have three of our players called up to the Kenya
U-20 squad even although one OF them had to drop. It conforms we are getting it
right in player development," Imbenzi added.
The Kakamega-based team beat Ulinzi Stars 2-0 in their last fixture
at Mumias Sports Complex.
They are set to face Tusker FC in the FKF Cup quarter final
match in their next fixture.
