Impala, Homeboyz out to exploit games in hand

The Kenya Cup takes a break this weekend but action continues as four sides prepare to use the recess to clear their fixtures backlog.

Resolution Impala Saracens visit Nondescripts for the clash initially slated for December 10 while Menengai Cream Homeboyz host Blak Blad; a match-up that originally set for January 28.

The opportunity sets up the Sarries and Homeboyz to leapfrog champions and third-placed Kabras Sugar in the Kenya Cup standings should they record wins on Saturday.

The clash between Homeboyz and Blak Blad was postponed after the former lost their forward Andrew Wekesa days before the game while that of Impala and Nondies was pushed back after the death of Sarries teen sensation Ogeto Gecheo.

Homeboyz are fourth on 44 points and a win over the stubborn Blak Blad will see leap to third above defending Kabras. In their previous meeting on match day five, the Deejayz prevailed 43-11 at the Kenyatta University Grounds.

Impala could ensure Kabras slip further down the log to fifth should they power past Nondies who sit eighth on 20.

Impala have 41 and come to the game aiming for the double over Nondies following their 37-22 triumph in November.

A win for Blak Blad will see them overtake Strathmore Leos while Nondies can reduce the gap between them and Mwamba with a win.
