Impala Saracens ace Sindindi dies
The Impala Saracens RFC fullback Richard Sindindi has died at the Nairobi Women’s Hospital, the Kenya Cup team’s Secretary General Charles Mbogo has confirmed.
Sindindi drowned on Monday morning at the Impala Club where he had gone for his routine training exercise, according to Mbogo.
Nicknamed ‘Real Jadhah Power’, Sindindi was signed from Kisumu RFC by the Sarries in 2016 shortly after he had featured for the national team Shujaa during that year’s Safari Sevens tournament.
He did not feature over the weekend duirng his side’s 36-27 victory over Menengai Cream Homeboyz at the RFUEA Grounds as he did not make the matchday squad.
In a statement, his club described the Maseno University and St. Mary’s Yala alumnus as an ‘astute Impala Saracens Rugby Team member’.
He leaves behind a young family, wife Catherine and daughter Candace.
