AFC Leopards Secretary General aspirant Irene Sitawa Wekesa has promised to revamp the club’s administration including upgrading the communication department, ensuring an improved players and members’ welfare and appointing an experienced CEO, if elected.
Sitawa has also
echoed Chairman aspirants Boniface Ambani and Enos Mutoka’s sentiments that
time is nigh to return the club to its lost glory days.
Sitawa is
battling it out against Isaac Mulindi Mulanda and Robert Khamala Situma. The
polls will be held on Sunday at Kasarani Stadion Hotel Ballroom with 2,706 members
set to cast their votes.
“The first
assignment is to revamp the administration including upgrading our
communication department by hiring people on merit and not by reward.
We also should
be able to appoint an experienced Chief Executive Officer as well as targeting
to win league titles which have been elusive for over 25 years now,”Sitawa said
in her campaigns ahead of Sunday vote.
The Webuye-born
business development and strategic partnerships officer says her involvement in
Leopards for the last 15 years gives her an edge for the job.
“I have been at
Leopards for 15 years not just as a fan but as a very active member. I have
worked day and night and been at fore-front in ensuring I offer help to
Leopards by doing my best.
I have enough
and much needed experience,” she enthused, “My current job will soften
everything if I become the next SG, because I am currently in communication development
and strategic planning, by profession,” Sitawa told Citizen Digital.
Sitawa, Mulindi
and Situma are seeking to succeed Caroline Walusaga who is serving on interim basis
following the demise of Gilbert Andugu.
