Jepkosgei backs Kenya marathon team for an Olympics podium sweep

Despite missing
out on Team Kenya’s marathon party for the Paris 2024 Olympics, 2019, New York
Marathon winner Joyciline Jepkosgei has backed Kenya for a podium sweep, terming
her miss as an opportunity to seek a qualifying time for the next edition in
Los Angeles, USA, in 2028.
Speaking after
finishing third in the just concluded London Marathon, Jepkosgei has backed
defending champion Peris Jepchirchir, Ruth Chepngetich, and former world record holder Brigid
Kosgei, Boston marathon champion Hellen Obiri, Rosemary Wanjiru and Sharon
Lokedi to deliver the goods for the country in Paris.
"All I have to do is work hard and make sure I will be part of the Kenyan team for the next Olympics, she said. Jepkosgei

Jepkosgei says despite not being selected to be part of the Kenya team for this year’s Olympic games in Paris, she will be cheering for her
compatriots.

Marathon champion who finished third on Sunday behind winner Peris
Jepchirchir and Tigst Assefa of Ethiopia said she was
satisfied with the podium finish and will be working hard to improve on
her future performance .
“I was a tough
rave and finishing in the podium is a great performance from me I am sure in
the coming races, I will put in hard work in training and win the races,”
stated Jepkosgei
