Kalama says goal-shy Bidco will soon hit form

Bidco United fullback David Kalama admits the side is struggling to score goals despite creating enough chances but is adamant they will soon find that cutting edge.

The newly promoted side have won only one of eight FKF Premier League matches this season and have the second lowest scoring rate in the division at just 0.5 goals per game.

Bidco battled to a barren draw against Ulinzi Stars at Afraha Stadium in their previous match on Wednesday and will host Wazito FC on Sunday.

“We started the season well considering that we are new in a tough league. We could have done more these past games but there’s improvement and that’s always a positive,” Kalama said.

Kalama joined Bidco United in 2017 under coach Robert Matano through a trial exercise while at Kenyatta University and having never before played for any top flight side.

After earning promotion to the top-flight, Bidco United signed experienced players, among them 2012 golden boot winner Stephen Waruru, Noah Wafula, former Wazito FC striker Pistone Mutamba, Zoo FC defender Wilson Anekeya, Luke Ochieng from Western Stima, Brian Opondo from Kariobangi Sharks, veteran Dennis Monda, former Nzoia Sugar forward Batts Awita, Anthony Gathu, who was with Murang’a Seal, goalkeeper Edwin Mukolwe from Wazito FC, and Victor Ayugi of KCB.
