Kangemi Ladies eye win against Kayole Starlets
Kangemi Ladies head coach Joseph Orao is optimistic they
will overcome Kayole Starlets when both teams lock horns in Saturday’s Kenyan
Women Premier League (KWPL) encounter at the Stima Members Club in Nairobi.
Kangemi were held in a goalless draw by Kisumu All
Starlets last weekend at the Ligi Ndogo in Nairobi while Kayole were on the end
of a 7-1 drubbing at the hands of Zetech Sparks at the GEMS Cambridge.
According to Orao, the striking department is the main
challenge they have been dealing with ahead of the weekend match.
"In the last match against Kisumu, I noticed we
were sluggish in the striking department. My players got a lot of chances but
failed to utilize them and that's something we must change,” Orao said.
“Another challenge we had was in the midfield
department which was not supplying enough balls to the strikers but that is now
sorted. I am sure if we win the next three matches, then we will rise to better
position and avoid the relegation axe which is our major concern for now,” Orao
said.
Kangemi are currently in the bottom of the 12-team log
with four points, five behind their opponents Kayole who sit one place above
them.
Elsewhere at the Thika Stadium, Thika Queens will host
Nakuru City Queens as Wadadia will be playing Trans Nzoia Falcons at the Mumias
Sports Complex.
Saturday’s fixtures will see Bunyore Starlets playing
Ulinzi Starlets at the Mumboha Stadium in Vihiga, Gaspo Women will tackle
Zetech at the Stima Members Club while Kisumu All Starlets will host Vihiga at
Moi Stadium in Kisumu.
