KCB back as Kenya National Rally title sponsor

KCB back as Kenya National Rally title sponsor

KCB Bank Kenya has committed KSh75 million towards motorsports for the next three years, making a comeback as title sponsor of the Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC).

Every year, KSh20 million will be spent on staging of KNRC events and KSh5 million will be for Autocross. Hence, the two motorsports disciplines will be dubbed KCB Bank Rally and KCB Bank Autocross.

While presenting the sponsorship to the Kenya Motorsports Federation (KMSF), KCB said there will be 7 KNRC events and 10 Autocross events this year.

“As a long standing sponsor, we are passionate about motorsport, we believe that our sponsorship will continue to re-ignite the motorsport spirit”, said KCB Marketing and Communications Director Angela Mwirigi.

“We are reaffirming our confidence in the power of sports to influence lives positively. We see this as a strategic avenue to engage with communities and build talent across the East African region” she said.

This will see KCB Bank back as the title sponsor of the KNRC while retaining its role as the title sponsor for Autocross Championship. For the past three years, KCB has been KMSF official banking partner.

“We are grateful to KCB Bank for this immense sponsorship. This will go a long way in refining the spirit of the competition as we gear up for the 2019 World Rally Championship return to Kenya,” said KMSF Chairman Phineas Kimathi.

The 2019 KCB Autocross Championship calendar kicks off this weekend in Mai Mahiu followed by KCB Nakuru Rally to be held in Nakuru and Baringo counties during the weekend of February 1st – 2nd 2019.
