KCB intensify preparations for Nairobi City Stars clash
KCB
have heightened their preparations ahead of this weekend’s FKF Premier League clash
against Nairobi City Stars.
The
bankers who face City Stars on Saturday, May 21, 2022, are ninth on the log
garnering 40 points with three league matches left to play.
Assistant
coach Godfrey Oduor says despite the poor run of form, he expects the team to
win the remaining league matches to end the season in a respectable position.
“We
have had a very difficult season; we had our target at the beginning of the
season which was to clinch the title but somehow along the way as is in
football we experienced a dip in form which puts us at an awkward position but
we intend to win the remaining three matches to end the season on a high,” he
said.
Oduor
further expressed his confidence in the squad and reckons they have been
working on their defence to ensure that they do not concede goals that have
proved costly in recent matches.
“We
had some of our key defenders injured in the course of the season but we have
been working so hard in training to keep the rest of the squad fit and improve
that department,” said Oduor.
Speaking
after Thursday’s open training session at the Ruaraka Sports Club, forward
Enock Agwanda said the boys have their heads held high despite the recent
performances. He admits the confidence level in the squad is high and they are ready
to grab the three vital points against Nairobi City Stars.
After
playing City stars, KCB face Nzoia Sugar and Bidco United.
