Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) women’s volleyball club will be eyeing a quarterfinal berth in the CAVB Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship, when they face Cote d’Ivoire’s Asec Mimosa in the last 16 Tuesday evening.

The two sides are penciled to clash at the Cairo Stadium Indoor Arena in Cairo, Egypt, with the 2022 champions on the back of a perfect run, having won all their pool matches.

On Sunday, KCB, powered by returning opposite attacker and Malkia Strikers’ golden girl Sharon Chepchumba, whitewashed Senegal’s Sococim 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-10) in Group B to maintain their unbeaten run.

Five-time African champions Kenya Prisons will also be in action against Nigeria’s Customs Service in the other round of 16 clash.

Prisons, who had a slow start in the campaign, rallied from behind to dispatch Algeria’s NC Bejaia 3-1 (18-25, 25-17, 25-14, 25-18) in a pulsating Pool A clash on Sunday, finishing second behind Egyptian giants Al Ahli.

The Josp Baraza-led charges are on a mission to reclaim their 2013 African glory, and victory in the round of 16 will ignite their quest for the coveted title.

The two Kenyan sides will be looking to join Kenya Pipeline, who have already booked their quarter-final ticket without serving a ball.

Pipeline, six-time African champions, are enjoying a fine run in the continental showpiece, having won all their Group C matches, and are eying a gold medal after falling to Zamalek 3-1 in last year’s climactic finale in Tunisia.
