KCB’s Otanga edging closer to Algerian move
KCB
forward Derrick Otanga
is on the verge of joining Algerian club CS Constantine.
The former Sony Sugar FC and Wazito
FC talisman who netted 16 times to emerge top scorer in the FKF- Premier
League last season has reached an agreement with the club and is only awaiting
for his visa to be processed.
In an
interview with Citizen Digital, the
lethal striker while remaining coy on the details of the deal said he wanted a
new challenge where he hopes to replicate his goal scoring prowess in the
Algerian top flight league.
“I wanted a new challenge in a different
league and it’s a step forward in my career. I will always appreciate the
chance KCB gave me and it helped me to even emerge as the KPL top scorer.
“As
a striker you always want to score goals and I will set a target for myself
this season to score more goals and fight for the golden boot as well,” Otanga
said.
Otanga
will leave a void for the Bankers who will be forced to scout for a perfect
forward to fill in his boots and lead them in the title charge in the coming
season.
