Kenya Hockey Union elections set for July 26

This will be the first time that the Hockey union holds an election since the 2018 election which Nashon Randiek won to retain the presidential seat that he had initially won in 2013 after the retirement of then president, Resham Bains.
In an official notice signed by Secretary General Wycliffe Ongori, the union will conduct an elective AGM where election for ten positions will be contested.
The notice was firm on the eligibility of nomination stating that only the duly registered with the registrar of sports organization and affiliated to the union shall be eligible to seek elections.
Further, nominations must be submitted in writing, proposed by one member, seconded by at least two others, and must include the candidate’s written consent submitted to the office of the Secretary General two weeks before the AGM.
According to the Kenya Hockey Union constitution, those who qualify to vote are as follows; two representatives from each of the registered CHA (County Hockey Associations), two representatives from the KHUA (Kenya Hockey Umpires Association), all Committee Members of Africa Hockey Federation (AFHF) and International Hockey Federation (FIH), one representative from Kenya University Sports Association (KUSA) and one representative from Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA).
The positions to be contested are:
1) President
2) Deputy President
3) Deputy President
4) Hon. General Secretary
5) Deputy Hon. General Secretary
6) Hon. Treasurer
7) Dep. Hon Treasurer
8) M&F Secretary
9) Dep. M&F Secretary and
10) Public Relationship Officer
