2024 FKF Cup winners, Kenya Police FC, are set to unveil new
signing in an event scheduled for Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Police
Sacco Stadium, Nairobi.
The club’s chairman of the Board of Trustees, Bishop Dr. Fred Akama, announced that
the unveiling ceremony will be part of celebration to mark the inaugural Police
FC Day.
“This will be a first-of-its-kind event in Kenya, where a club unveils
its new players in such a grand manner,” stated Akama.
In addition to the unveiling of new players, Kenya Police FC will launch its academy and showcase the new kit for the
2024/2025 season.
“We will be signing an agreement with two secondary schools which will be acting as our development centers both for ladies and men.”
“The academy will nurture talent for under-9, under-12, under-15 and under-17 for
men, and under-15 and under-17 for ladies in
compliance with FIFA regulations,” he added.
Akama further stated that they will be unveiling
their sponsors for the 2024/2025 season on the same day.
To engage with fans, Police FC will host an
exhibition match against Shabana FC, while the club's fans' team will face off
against their media team.
Akama further emphasized on the importance of building a strong fan base to support the team.
“We are working to expand our support base beyond the traditional
community-based model and adopt a location-based approach, similar to clubs in
other countries,” he said.
