Police FC team manager George Maelo has affirmed that his stable
will be ready for a CAF Champions League bow when the premier continental club
football showpiece kicks off next season.
Police won their first-ever league title this year and
booked a chance to represent the country in the continental showpiece in the
process, a feat that has got them working around the clock to ensure they are
ready for the showdown.
“We are determined to make history. We know how tough the assignment is, but we have to be mentally ready to tackle our tough opponents.
"We are happy for the title win; it is now
time to plan how to defend it and get ready for the continental assignment,” said Maelo.
Maelo believes they have a formidable squad that will require
very few additions for them to make other African giants.
“There will be minimal changes in the team. This team has been together for long; we are like a family.
With the task of them defending the league title as their predecessors, the
former Sofapaka captain has vowed they will put their best foot forward to make
sure they guard their crown and dominate the local football scene for a
long time.
“Our plan is to dominate Kenyan football for long, and that will come with teamwork from all football stakeholders in the team.
"The management has been very supportive of the technical bench, the players, and the fans, so every success has been
contributed by great teamwork, and we hope that will continue in the future,”
stated the team manager.
