The emphatic win underlined Prisons’ growing momentum as the league intensifies.
From the first serve, Prisons imposed their authority. They attacked with precision, executed disciplined blocks and delivered relentless serves that left A+ Plus scrambling for answers.
The mid-morning clash laid bare the gulf in experience between the two sides, while highlighting Prisons’ composure and tactical discipline.
Head coach Josp Barasa welcomed the result but emphasised the need for sustained improvement.
“I’m happy for the win because we have gotten the most important thing, the points. All we need to do now is build on the good results,” he said.
“I want to ask my players to keep performing well as they have been doing as we work on our weaknesses ahead of the third leg,” Barasa added.
Despite the heavy defeat, A+ Plus coach Sime Julliard Mbappe defended his team’s rebuilding approach, noting they are still laying the foundation.
“We’ve spent about three months working on the basics. There was no time for us to start implementing game tactics. Without basics, there is no way you can implement game tactics,” Mbappe said, justifying his side’s focus on fundamentals.
Elsewhere at the same venue, Kenya Defence Forces cruised past Young Spikers in straight sets (25-15, 25-10, 25-14) in another dominant display.
Postbank Volleyball Club also impressed, sweeping Nairobi Prisons 25-18, 25-19, 25-14 to strengthen their position in the standings.
Meanwhile, KCB Volleyball Club showed resilience, bouncing back after dropping the third set to defeat DCI 3-1 (25-15, 25-21, 25-27, 25-17).
