Kenya Prisons new recruits set for debuts as KVF resumes

Champions Kenya Prisons will give its new players run-outs this weekend when the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) women’s league resumes following a national break.

Prisons have a trip to the Makande Hall in Mombasa where they face a packed run of fixtures against Kenya Army, Kenya Defence Forces and Kenya Pipeline on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Coach Josp Barasa said his team is ready for their assignments and will not underrate any opponent with new recruits Pauline Itoo Faith Aite and Christine Wafula due for their debuts.

“Our approach is the first match and our focus is to qualify for the playoffs that’s why we are taking each match as it comes. An opponent is an opponent and you cannot underrate them.”

The Women's league was put on hold so as to facilitate the women’s national team, Malkia Strikers to head over to Brazil for their training camp before proceeding to the Netherlands for the World Championships.
