Kenya Prisons new recruits set for debuts as KVF resumes
Champions Kenya Prisons will give its new players run-outs
this weekend when the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) women’s league resumes
following a national break.
Prisons have a trip to the Makande Hall in Mombasa where they
face a packed run of fixtures against Kenya Army, Kenya Defence Forces and
Kenya Pipeline on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Coach Josp Barasa said his team is ready for their
assignments and will not underrate any opponent with new recruits Pauline Itoo
Faith Aite and Christine Wafula due for their debuts.
“Our approach is the first match and our focus is to qualify
for the playoffs that’s why we are taking each match as it comes. An opponent
is an opponent and you cannot underrate them.”
The Women's league was put on hold so as to facilitate the
women’s national team, Malkia Strikers to head over to Brazil for their
training camp before proceeding to the Netherlands for the World Championships.
