Kenya Roll Ball team on the verge of missing World Cup fiesta

Kenyan Men and women Roll Ball teams are worried they might be late for the 6th Roll Ball World Cup starting this Friday in Pune, India.

This is due to delays in funds disbursement from the Ministry of Sports.

According to the ladies team head coach Abunde Martin; they risk missing their first matches as the defending champions if the delay continues since they have not yet received their travel visas yet.

Initially, the team was set to travel by Wednesday, and Abunde says it would be a major blow to the defending champions as well as their male counterparts who are ranked second in the world.

“Going by the current situation we might be late for the opening matches which will be dangerous for us if we fail to honour,” said Abunde.

However the team remains hopeful they will be done with the whole process by the close of business Tuesday, to make the trip

Earlier Tuesday morning the team was camping at the Ministry of Sports offices trying to plead for funding.

“As we speak we are at the Ministry of Sports headquarters and our officials are currently having a meeting with officials. The meeting will inform if indeed we will travel or not,” added Abunde.
