Kenya wins chess, darts titles at EALASCA

After winning the scrabble, Kenya added chess and darts titles to their collection at the East Africa Local Authorities Sports and Cultural Associations (EALASCA) Games in Kampala on Thursday.

The Kenya Inter-Counties Sports and Cultural Associations (KICOSCA) emerged top in chess with 23 points with County Assemblies Sports Association (CASA) and Kampala City Capital Authority (KCCA) second and third on 19.5 and 16.5 points respectively.

In the absence of Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi and South Africa, EALASCA secretariat prevailed upon KICOSCA, KCCA and CASA to create “B” teams to increase the number of participating teams.

KICOSCA “A” led with 16 points, CASA “B” 10 pts, CASA “A” and KCCA “A” 9.5pts, KCCA “B” and KICOSCA “B” 7pts apiece.

Kenya’s CASA team thrashed KCCA Councillors 5-0 to win their inaugural title in style. The KICOSCA team is hoping to emulate the MCAs when they meet Uganda.
